Great Lakes and Central US Ecological Observatory (GLACEO)

Regional boundaries

This region includes the entire extent of Michigan and Wisconsin. Also included in this region are Northeastern Minnesota, Northeastern Iowa, Northern Illinois, Northern Indiana, Western Ohio and Western Lake Erie.


Organizers of meetings to be held at Field Stations include:

Knute Nadelhoffer, University of Michigan Biological Station,
G. Philip Robertson, Michigan State University,
Gary E. Belovsky, University of Notre Dame,

Organizational Status

Discussions and organization meetings are occurring at universities across the region, including University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Notre Dame, University of Wisconsin, University of Toledo, and others. A regional meeting was held in Ann Arbor in July 2002. Future meetings will be at field stations, including:
Kellogg Biological Station (May 12-13, 2004)
U of Michigan Biological Station (October 2004)
U of Notre Dame Environmental Research Center (Spring 2005)

Institutional support for regional organizing is being provided by the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and the University of Notre Dame.
