Discussions and organization meetings are occurring at universities across the region, including University of Michigan, Michigan State University, University of Notre Dame, University of Wisconsin, University of Toledo, and others. A regional meeting was held in Ann Arbor in July 2002. Future meetings will be at field stations, including: Institutional support for regional organizing is being provided by the University of Michigan, Michigan State University, and the University of Notre Dame.
