Macintosh OS X
- Safari 1.0 Beta 2, v73: Saved file and launched Windows Media Player 7.1.3.0267 w/ error about 'using codec that is not supported'. Video ok, no sound.
- Mozilla 1.2.1: Did nothing, no error, no movie.
- Internet Explorer 5.2: Saved file and launched Windows Media Player 7.1.3.0267 w/ error about 'using codec that is not supported'. Video ok, no sound.
Windows 2000
- Mozilla 1.21: Tried to embed movie in current browser window, launched Windows Media Player 9.0, which then complained about the file suffix, asked if it should try to play anyway, then reported an error and did nothing. No movie, no sound.
- IE 6.0.28: Asked to launch movie in IE or handle with player. Both worked fine, launching Windows Media Player 9.0, video and audio ok. It also worked fine under Windows Media player 7.1.
- When opening the URL directly in Windows Media Player 9 and 7.1, it worked fine with both video and audio.
Windows 98
- IE 5.5, Windows Media Player 6.4, everything works fine (video and audio).
- Mozilla 1.0 Beta, asked to save the file to disk, which could then be opened ok by Windows Media Player 6.4.
Macintosh OS X
- Safari 1.0 Beta 2, v73: Popup window launches, no video loads, no audio.
- Mozilla 1.2.1: Opened 2 windows, one with a broken plugin image, the other blank. No video, no audio.
- Internet Explorer 5.2: Popup window launched, gave error about not playing properly, loaded cache as though the video would play, then nothing was displayed, no video, no audio. Progress bar does move as though all is ok.
Windows 2000
- Mozilla 1.21: Ran as expected with both video and audio.
- IE 6.0.28: Ran as expected with both video and audio.
Windows 98
- IE 5.5: Ran as expected with both video and audio.
- Mozilla 1.0 Beta: Attempted to download the plug-in, indicating it would likely work as expected.
