Regional boundaries

The Antarctic continent per se, including nearshore islands and the surrounding marginal ice zone, seasonally influenced by the advance and retreat of sea ice. Specifically the Antarctic Dry Valleys ecosystems (McMurdo LTER) and the Antarctic marine ecosystems of the West Antarctic Peninsula (Palmer LTER) and Ross Sea.
